Installation steps
Use the pressure specified by your boat manufacturer when preparing your tubes and selecting your cap’s pressure mode.
Charge in direct sunlight
It is recommended to place your NeverSoft valve caps in direct sunlight for one day before installation.
Pre-inflate your boat
If not already inflated, inflate your boat’s tubes to the manufacturer’s PSI specification before installing the caps.
NeverSoft caps maintain tube pressure; they are not intended to inflate a boat from flat.
Install the NeverSoftâ„¢ cap
Remove the original valve cap and replace it with your matching NeverSoft cap.
Need to choose a fitting? Browse the boat and valve options in the product store.
Check automatic activation
Once installed, the cap senses pressure. The pump will run briefly and the indicator lights will flash.
The number of blinks indicates the cap’s current mode. Follow step 5 below to select your desired setting.

5. Set your pressure mode
- Enter programming mode. When first installed, the pump runs briefly and the lights flash to show its current mode. Remove the cap while the lights are flashing to enter programming mode.
- Watch the blink sequence. Each mode sequence runs for approximately 15 seconds before moving to the next mode. Use the table below to identify the setting.
- Select your mode. Reinstall the cap while the lights are flashing the desired mode. The LEDs will flash the selected mode sequence to confirm your selection.
| LED sequence | Mode | Target pressure |
|---|---|---|
| 1 blink | Mode 1 | 2 PSI (140 mb) |
| 2 blinks | Mode 2 | 2.5 PSI (170 mb) |
| 3 blinks | Mode 3 | 3 PSI (205 mb) |
| 4 blinks | Mode 4 | 3.5 PSI (240 mb) |
The mb values are approximate. Select the appropriate mode using your boat manufacturer’s pressure guidance.
